Favor Boxes

Another great DIY idea is to make your own favor boxes.  It’s always great to have a little something to give your quests as a thank you for attending the event.  I went to my local Dollar Tree and purchased packages of white favor boxes that were blank and easy for me to decorate.  Since my wedding theme is the ocean we then purchased a set of seashell stamps from A.C. Moore along with an inking pad.

I stamped each side with a different seashell and allowed each side to dry before stamping the other.  When it was fully dry they easily pop up and fold together as you will see below.  As a finishing touch I will be adding a blue ribbon with a hand stamped tag that will most likely say, “Thank you for sharing our special day” or a simple “Thank you.”

You can fill these boxes with anything relating to the theme of your event.  As I’ll be using these as the table favors at my reception they will include seashell shaped chocolates, bubbles, and a sand dollar with the traditional sand dollar poem attached.

As you can see this is a simple way to add that extra touch to your next wedding, shower, or party.  You don’t need to spend a lot of money to make something look as though you did.

This has been another idea from the DIY Playground.  Stay tuned for much more in the days to come.
